Spring Festivals in the Area
At Ursula & Associates, we think that groundhog just may have been right. The weather has been pretty mild the last couple weeks and this leads us to think about everything Spring. So check out this list of Spring festivals in the area and see if there’s something your family would enjoy doing in the Cherokee County and surrounding area.
Located at Gibbs Gardens in Ball Ground area, the Daffodil Festival has been growing in popularity. Some 20 million daffodils bloom from March 1 to April 15. An admission fee is required, but the colorful views are priceless, especially if you are a flower or nature lover. Being held April 9-10, 2016, in the downtown Acworth area. It includes more than 100 artists displaying their works, food, and a Kids Zone.
This popular festival has been taking place annually in downtown Kennesaw for many years. This year, it’s being held April 16-17, including a parade that Saturday morning. This event annually draws more than 60,000 people and includes more than 200 arts and crafts vendors, entertainment stages and numerous food vendors.
CHEROKEE INDIAN FESTIVAL AND POW WOW Experience Native American entertainment, arts and crafts, music and food. This annual tradition has been taking place Mother’s Day weekend at Boling Park in Canton for many years.
Takes place the third weekend in May, from 10 am – 5 pm and is presented by the Cherokee County Arts Council. It includes artists, music, food, a youth art exhibit, and a hands-on area for children in Brown Park.
The popular Artist's Market will once again be the centerpiece of Canton Festival of the Arts for 2016. Held in Canton's historic Downtown on Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22, from 10 am – 5 pm, this annual event offers visitors the rare opportunity to savor the works of some of the most talented artists and craftspeople from across the South and beyond. This year the Artist Market will include exhibitors whose fine art mediums include oil, watercolor, fine blown glass, jewelry, decorative and functional pottery, sculpture and hand-turned wood.
One Friday a month (March – December) in downtown Woodstock. Enjoy the many restaurants and stores the area offers as the downtown merchants stay open late, 6 pm – 9 pm, and celebrate with a themed downtown-wide festival.
