With this week—June 21st—marking the official first day of summer, what better way to celebrate than with ice cream at some of the best places in Cherokee County?

While you can never go wrong with a Frosty from Wendy’s or a frozen lemonade (a refreshing combination of lemonade and vanilla ice cream) from Chik-fil-a, we wanted to give you some additional options. A few of these may be unknown to some of you. However, at Ursula & Associates, we strive to keep you informed about Cherokee County and its many amazing options.

As you will see below, there is definitely no shortage of places to get this frozen concoction in the Towne Lake/Woodstock area.

Bruster’s Real Ice Cream  – on Eagle Drive in Towne Lake. Their ice cream is made the old-fashioned way, with slow kettle processing designed specifically to create the Bruster’s flavor.  Their website shows details about their Southern Charmers flavor collection, which includes key lime pie, coconut cream pie, Southern banana pudding       and peach.

Baskin-Robbins – located inside the Dunkin Donuts shop on Towne Lake Parkway, just before the I-575 North ramp. Known for its 31 flavors of ice cream, Baskin-Robbins is the world’s largest ice cream chain with nearly 7,000 retail shops in 50 countries.

Cold Stone Creamery  – Towne Lake Parkway, Woodstock. The ice cream is made fresh in the store daily and you can customize your own creation by selecting the flavors of ice cream and side items to have mixed into the ice cream. Pictured here is the Peanut Butter Cup Perfection Creation with chocolate ice cream with peanut butter, Reese's® peanut butter cup and fudge. If this doesn’t make you ready to grab your car keys for an ice cream run, we don’t know what will!

Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt – Towne Lake Parkway, Woodstock. Their yogurt bar has a regularly changing menu of creative flavors as well as a dairy free ice cream.

Ghirardelli Chocolate Outlet & Ice Cream Shop  – located at The Outlet Shoppes on Ridgewalk Parkway in Woodstock. It’s Ghirardelli, enough said!!!

Dairy Queen – Hwy. 92 in Woodstock (less than a mile off I-575). Sometimes, you just want a classic. And no one does soft serve like DQ! It’s also a franchise that tries to keep things fresh, with new Blizzard flavors, recently added Blizzard cakes and now, funnel cakes. And who else but DQ would have a Happy Hour? Weekdays from 2-5 pm,       they have $1 and $2 specials on iced coffee, frappes and fruit smoothies.

Frosty Frog Creamery & Cafe  – located on Hickory Flat Highway in Canton. With dozens of flavors, including some unique options like Elvis in White, Pistachio Cheesecake and Tiramisu Toffee, as well as sherbets, sorbets and a list of sugar-free flavors.

Finally, we hope you have managed to make it to the end of this blog. After seeing all these enticing ice cream treats, we wouldn’t blame you if you had run out to satisfy your sweet tooth! Whenever you decide to stop for a frozen treat this summer, we hope you will keep those dollars in the Cherokee County community.
