The Fairways at Towne Lake is one of the smaller neighborhoods located near the middle of Towne Lake, bordered by Eagle Watch and Towne Lake Hills East. The homes were built between 1992 and 2002. The amenities offered to the home owners include a swimming pool, 3 lighted tennis courts and a playground. The Fairways also border the Eagle Watch golf course for breathtaking views and some of the homes back up to the Corp of Engineers property of Lake Allatoona.
Children in the Fairways attend Bascomb Elementary, ET Booth Middle and Etowah High School. All children in grades K-5 go to Bascomb Elementary School, a Georgia School of Excellence. Students then attend ET Booth Middle School and Etowah High School.
Once you move to Towne Lake, it is hard to want to venture outside of Cherokee County! Lake Allatoona is located just minutes away and offers 12,000 acres of blue water to enjoy year round. There are 13 public beaches. Some are located within campgrounds, for extended stays. Swimming, boating, sailing, fishing, make Lake Allatoona one of the most visited US Army Corps of Engineer lakes in the world.
The county and its cities continue to expand and win awards for being unique/best places to live. Today Woodstock is the fastest growing city in Cherokee County. The revitalisation of Downtown Woodstock has contributed to explosive growth. You will find unique shops, new businesses, a wide selection of restaurants and the new Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater at the Park at City Center, which just celebrated their grand opening in November of 2016 and is home to the Woodstock Summer Concert Series. This is a free series of summer concerts with headliners like The Swinging Medallions and 38 Special in 2018.
Woodstock also offers an amazing trail system and several parks. Olde Rope Mill Park features multiple mountain bike and multi-use trails, picnic tables, fishing, canoeing and a scenic overlook/fishing platform. A pedestrian bridge connects the south side of Little River to the north side where you can see remnants of an 1800's Rope Mill.
Towne Lake is also the home of Hobgood Park, the largest recreational public park in Cherokee County which offers 4 lighted championship softball fields, concession, score stand, restrooms, lighted playground, 4 lighted tennis courts, 1/2 mile jogging – walking trails, 2 pavilions with grills, picnic area. fitness courts, and 6 youth baseball – softball fields.
The Cherokee Outdoor YMCA is just North of Towne Lake and offers summer day camps and youth soccer.
