About Woodstock

The town, like many, grew up around a small rail stop. The old town  spread along Main Street and one side of the railroad tracks. The other  side of the tracks was mostly woods.  Today Woodstock is the fastest growing city in Cherokee County. With the growth of Woodstock at 70% over the past 10 years, the city has doubled in size. Interstate 575 and Hwy. 92 run directly through the heart of Woodstock so there are unlimited possibilities for those who live and work in Cherokee County.

Woodstock also borders Lake Allatoona.  The shores of Lake Allatoona offer 25 parks, 8 marinas and 10 campgrounds.  The lake is one of the favorite weekend destinations for local residents.   What if you don't have your own boat?   Boat rentals are available.

And don't forget the Cherokee Outdoor YMCA bordering Lake Allatoona offering summer camps for local children and the youth soccer programs along other team sports.

There is Rope Mill Park and Woodstock's extensive new Greenprints trail system.
